Retreats // Coming To Our Senses
through poetry, movement, and meditation

August 31 - September 4, 2025

With John Brehm & Alice Boyd

Alton L Collins Retreat Center

As our culture becomes increasingly technological and abstract—as we are drawn more and more into the virtual world—we lose touch with the real world of the senses, the actual physical world that sustains us. Distracted and preoccupied, and made anxious by the pace of change all around us, we find it harder and harder to maintain our intimate connection with the present moment.

In this five-day in-person retreat, we will immerse ourselves in the real world. Through Feldenkrais lessons, guided meditations, and mindful poetry discussions, we will reawaken our sensual experience of the world in all its tones and textures. And within the safety of our group container, supported by a lush forest of giant fir and cedar trees, we will have ample opportunities to connect both with the land and with each other.

We trust that our time together will be healing not just for us, individually and collectively, but for mother earth as well.
